Five Definitions

"If goods were sold only for cash, prices would be lower and everyone would be better off." I somewhat agree because everyone relies on credit cards - even if they have to pay it off later."If I can't pay for something, it means I can't afford it, so I won't buy it." I agree because I use this term, aha!" I buy on credit whenever I can because credit increases sales and is good for businesses." I somewhat agree with this because people can rely on cash too much and they become in debt with someone that they need to pay back later... Cause that's what I do too, LOL. "You should use credit sometimes: it helps you establish a credit rating, which may be useful in case of an emergency." I don't have much of an opinion on it.. I'll just leave it at that.

Planning is the basic function of management, it plans ahead of time, what should happen in the future; achievements of goals. Organizing is bringing in physical, financial and human resources. Achievement of organized goals. Leading/Directing is managerial function which helps the organizational method to work much more better for the achievement of organizational purposes. Controlling is implying measurement of accomplishment opposed to standards and ensures achievement of organizational goals. The advantages of participative planning is increase in productivity, job satisfaction, motivation, improved quality and reduced costs. The disadvantages of participative planning is that decision making slows down and there may be a raise in security issues.

My groups business is doing really well, better than expected. The managers in my life influence me in different ways. Teachers influence my future, what I wanna do, what I would be interested in. Coaches are teachers that I respect the most because not only do they influence me, they get to know me in a more.. Skilled level. My parents, I highly respect them but the only way they influence me is by giving examples as to what they were like when they were my age. I can understand the way they see things if they do it that way. I put this altogether and the influence they have on me is to strive and do my best, it doesn't matter about what the outcome would've been, it just matters if I tried my hardest. I can use this in my work because it shows that I won't give up and/or that I won't stress too much of the outcome, just as long as I did what needed to be done.

A product that is in the decline stage of it's miserable life is the Ipod Nano (those rectangle ones.) I went to go and buy one with my mom and then the salesman said that they no longer sell it because apple wanted to promote the touches and the shuffles. Made me sooooo angry. My recommendations would be to either upgrade them like they did with shuffles, add a touch addition to it, or market them like they used to. To me they seemed like they just gave up. I say so because I STILL WANTED IT & I THINK THEY COULD'VE SOLD MORE IF THEY WERE PATIENT.

I actually didn't work on the personalized yearbook because it was being so rude to me and didn't cooperate. I got angry and totally gave up. But what I liked about the product was that it was your own thing. However you wanted it, you'd get it from your end of the stick.. If that even made sense. I wished that it cooperated with me; thats the difference. This product would appeal to people who don't like the yearbook in he first place. I'd market them by spreading the word to friends and I'll wish they'd tell others.

The different ads that I can: ESPN's 'towel around the world,' Moosejaw's x-ray vision app. Mastercard's food truck feast. Mcdonald's student loan menu, 5050's fight the famine emblem, Amnesty International's slide to unlock ipad and Call of Duty's the Vet and the Noob. My favourite ad would be  Nike's spotlight, Cadbury's simply the best, Axe's hot girl vs zombies, the least favourite ad would be Staple's; 'WOW! Thats a low price,' and the State Farm ads. Ads that work for me are the ones that are always catching my attention and the one I don't mind seeing between TV shows. The ads that make me angry are the ones that keep playing over and over again, like, why does it keep coming. Like, some ads play 3 times in a row - I know you wanna get your point across but you don't needa rerun it. It really makes people uninterested.

Guerilla Marketing

The idea that I liked the most in the 'marketing ideas' was Las Vagas' "what happens here, stays here" campaign. I liked it because Las Vegas, turned themselves around and made it into a very.. Fun, very 'to forget about your problems' place; Sin City. The idea I liked most about the examples video was the Volkswagen one and thats mainly because it was fun, exciting and to me, highly creative. Of course, what's more fun.. Slides or escalators? Aha.

To me I think they're dead on with Generation Y, because well, I like knowing about things with the spread of mouth from friends. Especially friends with the same interest. I'd rather be notified of new products from texts and such instead of sitting and waiting for commercials to keep coming. I especially hate when commercials play on and on. For me, it's simple. I get told by friends, I go check it out and my results wind up from there.

I am sorry mainly because I didn't even pay attention to the video, I tried but my attention was elsewhere cause I have personal problems and I actually brought them to class, when I usually don't. Guaranteed, next video I will pay attention and do my opening activity much better. Kbye.

Is it possible for a business to be solvent but not profitable?

A business can be solvent and not profitable. You can pay all the debts that needed to be paid off and not gain profit.. But, where and what are the solvent businesses? I think it's possible but which company is? But anyways, every company doesn't need to be profitable. Profit gets you more money for more supplies and such. Where it's solvent, the business is handled and still operating. WOO.

Assets:

  1. Cash: currency, coins, checking accounts, and cheques that were from customers.
  2. Prepaid Insurance: It's pretty much a contract that has been paid for in an advance. It shows the amount that has paid but doesn't expire due to the balance sheet date
  3. Petty Cash: Cash that are given for supplies..
  4. Supplies: Cost of supplies at one point in time
  5. Accounts receivable: A combined amount of debit balance
A doubtful account is the credit balance in the contra asset account.
The difference between assets, liability and equity is that assets control or represent the different receiving of cash, liability is a formal payment and equity is earnings.
